Mario Puzo’s Godfather lives on!
Did you know Mario Puzo wrote a screenplay that was never made into a movie? It was meant to be a prequel to The Godfather. Ed Falco, author of Burning Man and A Dream with Demons, accepted the challenge and succeeded in turning the screenplay into a gripping novel: The Family Corleone.
The Family Corleone takes place in New York City in 1933, during the Great Depression. The looming end of prohibition plunges all the organizations into a greater battle for power and control. Amidst the fighting and violence, Don Vito struggles to keep his eldest son, 17 year old Sunny, from taking up the Family business, while Sunny Corleone wants nothing more than to follow in his father’s footsteps…
The Godfather series by Mario Puzo is definetely back with new life in Ed Falco’s The Family Corleone. If you are a fan of The Godfather or of crime novels, you will be happy to know that The Family Corleone is our chosen book of the month for June and is currently on sale in our store.
